The Rev. Scott Alexander Fleming, LMHC
Pastoral Clinician, Educator, and Consultant
Scott is an ordained minister, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Board-Certified Chaplain who has spent nearly two decades walking alongside individuals and families in moments of hope, loss, and healing.
He currently serves as a Spiritual Care Manager at Orlando Health, where he leads and supports chaplaincy care for patients, families, and healthcare staff during some of life’s most critical and vulnerable moments. His ministry experience spans community hospitals, trauma centers, institutions of higher learning, congregations, and private counseling practice—each setting shaping a deeply integrated approach to care.
Scott’s calling to ministry and counseling is rooted in his own story. Raised in Central Florida, he experienced early trauma and witnessed the toll that unaddressed mental health struggles can take on individuals and families—particularly among those who serve others, including first responders, military personnel, and clergy. These experiences formed in him a lasting compassion for those carrying unseen burdens and a particular concern for caregivers and those on the front lines of service.
At the heart of Scott’s work is a conviction that healing takes place within the context of meaningful relationships. He approaches counseling from a relational and integrative perspective, viewing the therapeutic and pastoral relationship as sacred space—where honesty, trust, and grace create the conditions for growth. His aim is to help individuals cultivate resilience, gain insight, and strengthen the relationships that give life depth and meaning.
His work is further informed by advanced training in grief care, trauma support, and healthcare ethics. In addition to his clinical and pastoral roles, Scott serves as a supervisor and educator, mentoring chaplains and teaching nationally in the areas of pastoral care, counseling, nursing, and medicine. Across every context—hospital, classroom, or counseling office—his focus remains consistent: to create environments where people are safe to be honest about their struggles and open to God’s healing presence.
Outside of his professional work, Scott is actively engaged in his community and values time with his wife, Melanie, and their family.
